Higgins General Store

A new member, Raven Scott, posted pics to her general store in the group photo album.
This is a shot of the outside.

The sidewalk has moss growing in the cracks, and a gumball machine is at the front entrance.
On the right hand side you can see the notions department.

Inside there is a tempting selection of sewing needs.

And you really must have a bathroom, so an extra room was built onto the back of the store.

An HBS nightstand was bashed to make the sink unit, and Sculpey clay used to make the sink and the bathroom mirror.
Of course, a general store must sell tools:

Outside, to the right is a vegetable stand.

Quarter Scale Minis and Roomboxes -part 3

Fern Rouleau has come up with a wonderful way to display her 1:24 scale houses in her living room, behind the sofa, installing mirror tiles so they would reflect the inside of the homes. She and Bob plan to enclose the project in Plexiglass.

Log Cabin

This is a project I made for my wife being she is a northwoods gal. The kit I purchased was called Adirondack Cabin (by Real Good Toys) and I made some addition's. The brick chimney and the front railing are added. On the interior I also added the fireplace. and interior logs on the walls. All the table and chairs and fireplace and bed's are made from scratch. The yard area items are also made from scratch. This took me 58 hours to complete. As a retired ME I enjoy the challenge.

The Captain George W. Robinson House
This wonderful house was built in 1838 for the family of a Maine sea captain, George W. Robinson.
The owners decided to replicate the house in miniature.
